"Summer Vibes" Erika Model 12 Typewriter from 1962

A wonderful and rare cream-coloured ERIKA Model 12 typewriter from 1962. Comes complete with original case in fine condition. In superb condition cosmetically and mechanically, it has been professionally adjusted and restored.  This typewriter has not been over-painted; it is all original. It has an indescribable light colour: Summer Straw?, Sahara Sand? The lovely brown colour of the keys are...what? Cinnamon brown?, Nut brown?
The styling is sublime, the typing action is springy and fast, yet solid to the touch. Erika typewriters are well-known and well-respected for the unique lever system they have for typing. This system gives a more relaxed "touch" than standard typewriters. The lovely deep-brown colour of the keys add a rich counterpoint to the colour scheme. It has a QWERTY international keyboard with keys for European languages and the typeface is a beautiful Erika Pica (10 cpi). It has a new ribbon and is ready to type.

Overall, this typewriter is in top condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. All keys type as new, the platen-roller is smooth and clean with a hardness rating of ~93 (ideal is between 85 and 95). The body finish is in excellent condition with very minimal signs of age or use. The Chrome is in very nice condition overall. The rubber feet and paper feeder rollers are in excellent and soft condition.
This Model 12 comes with the original "leather" case. The case is in fine cosmetic condition externally and internally.  The interior has some light water-staining on the silk lining. The cover suffers from a common design flaw in Erika cases and does not grip the base plate well. Unfortunately there is no real "fix" for this. So, I would not advise using the case for frequent travelling. However, for storage purposes it is perfectly good.
The paint is all original, as are all other aspects of this beautiful typewriter.
