Sky-Blue 1957 Optima Elite Typewriter

Just in time for Summer! This gorgeous, sky-blue Optima Elite typewriter is the perfect typing machine for you to use on safari, on the porch, in the summer cabin or wherever. The colour is all original—this typewriter has not been over-painted! With the QWERTY keyboard you can type as on your standard keyboard (watch out for QWERTZ (German) keyboards!) without always thinking where your fingers are going. 
One of our regular clients came into the gallery and said about this typewriter: "This is one of the finest you've ever had!". I am inclined to agree with him.
At Acme we specialize in fine, rare and highest quality typewriters and this one certainly fits in that category. With the sky-blue colouring and beautiful lines we can envision a very stylish person typing on it while it rests on a folding camp table at the seaside somewhere. The external design is beautiful and evocative of the late 50s or early 60s. 
A note on the photos: The precise colour is hard to keep constant in detail photos. The most correct colour is in the photos of the entire typewriter. 
This Optima Elite is in exceptionally fine cosmetic condition and it is working perfectly. The typeface is a very handsome Elite (11.5 characters to the inch) and the keyboard is QWERTY with extra keys for European languages. This typewriter has been fully serviced, completely cleaned, aligned, adjusted and lubricated for years of good service. It has been outfitted with a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately. This typewriter comes with the original brushes and User Manual and the original hard case.

The platen roller is soft, smooth and clean with a fine imprint on the paper. The rubber has a durometer reading of around 90, which is ideal! The paper feed rollers are in perfect condition and grip the paper well. The rubber feet are still in excellent condition and soft, holding the typewriter well to the desktop. The chrome is shiny and unblemished.
The original hard case is in excellent condition but has external signs of use and wear on the top cover and the bottom.
