1959 Everest Model K2 Typewriter with New Platen!

I used to find these regularly here in Europe, but in the last few years they have become very rare indeed. And I think I know why: these K2's are seriously a pleasure to type with and those who have them want to keep them. This one, from 1959, is a wonderful example of the K2. It is in excellent condition and has been completely conserved and restored including new platen rubber. It has been fully serviced, cleaned inside and out, adjusted and aligned. The keyboard is QWERTY and the typeface is a really lovely Elite with 12 chracters to the inch. The details are magnificent: the teal-blue colour of the "DeLuxe" logo on the ribbon raiser cover, the red arrows on the margin setting slides, the curvature of the carriage release levers—wonderful Italian design details!
The Everest K2 has one of the smoothest and softest typing actions of any mid-century typewriter. The carriage movement is silky smooth and the typing keys move under your fingers as lightly as rose petals falling. This Everest K2 has a tabulator system for writing in columns. and also has a touch-regulator system. It comes with a new bi-colour ribbon so that you can start typing immediately.
This is a fully-working--as original--typewriter. The only thing that you have to do is sit down, put paper on the roller and start typing. This Everest K2 comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter under the keyboard. This seal permanently identifies this typewriter as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one-year warranty. Mechanically, this Everest works perfectly. The platen, as mentioned, is new and the paper feeder rollers are in soft and fine condition. The rubber feet are soft, intact and grip the desktop well. 
Cosmetically this typewriter is in extra fine condition. There are some very minor points of wear and on the lower back panel some numbers have been lightly scratched onto the paint surface. This is hardly noticeable.
The hard case is in solid condition but suffers from wear. It has done its job well over the years. The handle is strong and the hasp works perfectly.
