SORRY , SOLD 1967 Hermes 3000 with Hermes-Special Typeface

Direct to you from Switzerland, this amazing Hermes 3000 comes from an advertising executive who was working on the Paillard account; Paillard, of course, being the makers of these fabulous Hermes typewriters. In as-new condition, perhaps this typewriter was used primarily for advertising photos, but that, we do not know for sure. What we do know is this:
This Hermes 3000, from 1967, is an exceptionally fine example of this iconic typewriter. It has the rare "Hermes Special" typeface and comes with its original case (with keys), also in as-new condition. It comes with the original User Manual and a wonderful advertising brochure. It has been professionally cleaned and prepared by us and is working perfectly! Cosmetically and mechanically, it is perfect. The Hermes-Special typeface is a serif based typeface with 10 characters to the inch, and a broader escapement space (2.5mm) meaning that the letters are slightly further apart giving a very elegant look.
The Swiss-based keyboard is QWERTY and has extra keys for foreign languages. The typewriter has been fitted with a new ribbon so you can start typing immediately. This is a typing machine that is ready to work for many good years of typing service. And with its brilliant Hermes engineering, it does that with elegance, smoothness and solidity.
The platen is clean, smooth and takes the imprint well (see typing sample). We can install a new platen at an additional cost of 120€, upon request. All the other rubber components are in perfect condition and soft. The feet are in like-new condition, soft and still grip the desktop well. All mechanical devices have been checked and adjusted as necessary, and work as originally manufactured. Everything on this typewriter is original to its manufacture and original purchase.
This extraordinarily fine example of a Hermes 3000 will be packed and shipped with the greatest care to preserve its condition and beauty. Please note that shipping charges are higher than normal due to the size of the case.
