  • SORRY, SOLD! 1964 Erika Model 10 Typewriter

    € 560,00Prijs

A stunning example of the ERIKA Model 10 typewriter in safari colours, from 1964. The Erika Model 10 is highly regarded by collectors and typists for its beauty and especially its usability. A two-colour ribbon has been installed on the two original metal ribbon spools. In superb condition cosmetically and mechanically. The colour scheme and paint finish on this typewriter are all original to its manufacture. This typewriter has not been repainted.

The styling is sublime, the typing action is springy and fast, yet solid to the touch. I love particularly the cream-coloured caps over the rubber feet--they remind me of spats on a turn-of-the-century gentleman's shoes.

The website "Typewriter Review" says of the Erika Model 10: "The keys seem to float on the wings of angels, where the merest whiff of thought moves your fingers to rapture. If a typewriter could be a muse, Erika would be her name. And if writing is your desire, she will inspire you to new highs." (https://typewriterreview.com/2014/12/17/erika-10/)

The Model 10 is not common and is highly sought-after by collectors and typists alike. This model comes with the tabulator, and the type-bar disentangler key. This is the "Pullman" model which has a small lever on the right which allows the ribbon cover to raise gently for ribbon replacement, cleaning, inspection, for removing the typewriter from the base, etc.

This typewriter has a QWERTY keyboard with extra keys for European languages. The typeface is a refined Erika Pica (10 characters to the inch) which is very similar to Olympia's Congress Pica typeface. It has a new two-colour ribbon and is ready to type.

Overall, the typewriter is in superb condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. The rubber feet are in excellent and soft condition.

Like all of our typewriters this is a fully-working typewriter. It comes with the "Acme" lead certification seal attached to the typewriter which permanently identifies it as a genuine Acme-restored typewriter and provides for a one year warranty. We guarantee safe delivery and provide careful and attentive after-purchase advice and assistance from the date of purchase to the end of eternity to ensure your full satisfaction. In terms of an investment, the Acme Seal proves that this machine was restored by the Acme Type Machine Company. This can add value in the event that you wish to sell this typewriter in the future.

This Erika typewriter will be packed and shipped with the greatest care to preserve its condition and beauty. We have a lot of experience in shipping typewriters and have an excellent track record for proper packing and safe delivery.
